I recently had the honour of speaking on 2SSR FM on the Enterprise program with the incredible host Jo Ryan. It was an emotional and deeply meaningful interview where we explored the reality of domestic violence, trauma bonds, emotional healing, and the journey of rediscovering identity after abuse.

LISTEN TO THE INTERVIEW HERE:

This conversation created space for truth, education, and empowerment. Together, we spoke openly about the topics many women are too afraid to voice — not because they are weak, but because they have been conditioned to survive in silence.

What We Spoke About

During the interview, we discussed:

  • Why women stay in abusive relationships
  • Understanding trauma bonds and the nervous system response
  • The power of knowledge in breaking the cycle of abuse
  • Psychological and emotional manipulation
  • How hypnotherapy, EMDR-style processing and Timeline Therapy® support healing
  • My book I See You and the mission behind it
  • The ‘Let’s Be Real’ school wellbeing program and educating the next generation

These conversations matter. Education changes outcomes. Awareness saves lives. Knowledge is power.

Breaking the Silence

Millions of women suffer behind closed doors, feeling ashamed, confused, and alone — believing they are the problem. Sharing this publicly was a reminder that:

Domestic violence has no face, no stereotype, and no boundaries.
You can look strong and still be breaking inside.
You can be successful and still be trapped.
You can leave and still feel lost.

Healing begins when we understand the psychology of abuse and stop blaming ourselves for what we were conditioned to tolerate.

A Voice for Every Woman

This interview was for:

  • the woman holding everything together in silence,
  • the woman rebuilding from nothing,
  • the woman trying to understand her own story,
  • the woman who is ready to rise.

If you survived it, you are already extraordinary.

Thank You

Thank you to Jo Ryan and the Enterprise team at 2SSR FM for creating a platform where real conversations spark real change. I am grateful for the opportunity to speak for the women who don’t yet have their voice.

Woman gently holding her stomach in a calm, cozy setting — IBS & Gut Health Program using hypnotherapy

Why Does My Gut Take Over My Whole Day? Hypnotherapy for IBS

Yes — gut-directed hypnotherapy is one of the most well-researched hypnotherapy applications there is. It works with the gut-brain connection directly, calming the nervous system signal that’s driving your symptoms. You know the drill before you’ve even left the house. Where’s the nearest bathroom. What’s safe to eat today, and what’s a gamble. Is today a “manage it and hope” day? Or a cancel-and-stay-close-to-home day? The bloating that makes you look six months pregnant by 3pm. The cramping that folds you in half without warning. You’ve done the elimination diets. You’ve tried the fibre, then tried cutting the fibre. Some of it helped a little. None of it gave you your life back. If that’s you, here’s something worth hearing. This isn’t in your head. And it isn’t a sign you’re “too sensitive.” Your gut and your nervous system are in constant conversation. Right now, that conversation has gone into

Woman relaxed on her couch at home with eyes closed during an online hypnotherapy session, laptop open showing the video call — illustrating that hypnotherapy works just as well over Zoom as in person.

Do I Need to See You in Person for This to Work? Hypnotherapy via Zoom vs. Face-to-Face

Yes — hypnotherapy works just as effectively over Zoom as it does in person. Hypnosis is a state you create yourself; my voice and guidance are simply how we get you there. That works exactly the same through a screen as it does across a room. I get some version of this question in almost every first phone call: “This is going to sound strange, but… does it actually work over video? Don’t you need to, like, be in the room with me?” It’s a completely fair question, and if it’s the thing quietly stopping you from booking, I want to answer it properly. Where this assumption comes from Most of what people picture when they imagine hypnosis comes from stage shows or old movies: a swinging watch, a hypnotist’s stare, something being done to someone. If that’s the picture in your head, then of course being in the same room feels

oman standing alone in her kitchen in the evening, pouring a glass of wine, looking tired and lost in thought — symbolising the automatic habit of drinking to unwind after a long day

Why Do I Always Say “Just One” and Have Five? Hypnotherapy for Drinking

Why do you always tell yourself “just one” and end up finishing the bottle? It’s 6pm and the glass is already in your hand before you’ve really decided to pour it. You told yourself last night would be the last “just because it’s Friday” night. You told yourself this morning you’d have an easy week. And yet here you are again, glass one turning into glass three. Underneath it, the same quiet promise to yourself: tomorrow I’ll cut back. If that’s you, I want to say something first: this isn’t a willpower problem, and it isn’t a character flaw. Somewhere along the way, a part of you learned that a drink is how you switch off, how you numb the noise, how you get through the end of a long day. That part of you has been doing its job faithfully, exactly the way it learned to. Why “just have more

Woman lying awake in bed at night under warm lamp light, eyes open and unable to sleep — symbolising insomnia and a wired, exhausted nervous system.

Why Can’t I Switch My Brain Off at Night? Hypnotherapy for Insomnia

Yes — hypnotherapy is one of the most direct ways to work with insomnia. It calms the exact nervous system response that’s keeping your mind wired at the moment you most need it to rest. It’s midnight, then it’s 1am, then you’ve stopped checking the clock because knowing the number only makes it worse. You know you’ll pay for this tomorrow. Knowing hasn’t made it stop. If you’ve tried the magnesium, the sleep hygiene checklist, the blackout curtains and the “no screens an hour before bed” and you’re still lying there wide awake most nights, you’re not doing it wrong. You’re dealing with a nervous system that hasn’t gotten the message it’s safe to switch off. That’s not something a bedtime routine alone can fix. Why “just relax” doesn’t work on a wired brain Here’s what nobody tells you about insomnia: it’s rarely actually about sleep. It’s about a nervous
